  3years pt, plus 2 years full time

second career

• Owned and ran 2 shops, a childrens-wear shop and Ladies-fashion shop
• Owned and ran Antique Business with two galleries specialising in Art Deco Glass by Rene Laligue

very-mature-student education

• Returned to University
  Nottingham Trent Uni. BA(hons) Fashion and Knitwear Design, 4 years full time
  
• CGPG Diploma in post compulsory education
• Studied for MA/Mphil in Graduate and Post Graduate, Art and Design Education

third career

• Designed own label collection of knitwear
• Showed at British Designer week in London
• Sold in America and Japan
  
• Also did freelance design work for Yarn Spinning Companies
• Went to Japan to work with special collection for Japanese market
  
  
• Started doing some part-time teaching
• Asked by local college to help set up new degree programme
  in Knitwear design and Technology
• Taught part-time, later gave up my business to become a full time lecturer
• Became Head of the Fashion Department, with responsibilty for the management of all fashion and knitwear Programmes
  at the Linconshire based, Art and Design Faculty of De Montfort University
